You have setup wrong Port buddy. Hence you getting the error. Gmail don’t use 993, it uses port 995. Change this settings and hopefully error should be fixed. For more help, checkout this http://support.google.com/mail/bin/a...n&answer=13287

Apart from the wrong Port number, you have also messed up the settings between POP3 and IMAP. First decide whether you need POP3 access or IMAP. Yeah, there’s bit difference in both. Check gmail pop3 and imap settings on their support page and configure according to any one of them.

Thanks a lot for your helps guys. I managed to fix the problem by using the steps mentioned on gmail support page. Now I don’t have any problem receiving mails but am not able to send any email yet. Now what’s wrong in the settings? Any suggestion?

Seems like still your settings are incorrect. You have not enabled the SSL option yet for the outgoing server and hence it wont be able to send the mails. You can get these settings from this Gmail support page: http://support.google.com/mail/bin/a...n&answer=86383

Also make sure to put outgoing SMTP server as smtp.gmail.com instead of pop.gmail.com.
