That type of error is often caused by interference from a non- compatible antivirus program. Which antivirus are you running? As a minimum, email scanning in the antivirus must be turned off, although that may not be sufficient to eliminate all bad effects. In a worst case scenario, your antivirus may need to be uninstalled. However, please note that I've already disconnected my e-mail anti-virus scanner from my computer on the advice of someone at Microsoft communities. So, apparently, that's not where the problem is. You failed to tell me which antivirus you have. Some of them (particularly McAfee, Norton, and Trend Micro) can cause problems in Windows Mail even when their email scanning is turned off. I already gave you the escalation steps you can take if the same problem returns: 1. In a worst case scenario, your antivirus may need to be uninstalled (assuming you want to stay with Windows Mail). We can recommend a free replacement antivirus that is more compatible. 2. I am having the same problem. I have norton internet security and have also turned email scanning off. The problem seems to be better but still i have problems losing connection to server. Can you please tell me the antivirus that your recommend that is compatible? I disabled the e-mail anti-virus elements in it. Isn't my computer in danger if I uninstall this anti-virus program? Then I'll have only Windows Firewall and Windows Defender to protect it. Chances are, you installed Avast antivirus using its default install option. Disabling its email scanning afterwards is not sufficient. Uninstall it, then reinstall, but select 'custom' install, which then allows you to unselect installing the troublesome email scanning module. | Re: Windows Mail Error Number: 0x800CCC0F I had the same problem and was able to get rid of my problem by removing a personal certificate in Windows Mail. Tools, Options, Security, Digital IDs..., Personal, highlight the name and Remove -- bp6917 |
