| Can Not Receive Incoming Email...HELP!
Hey. I have been using Microsoft Outlook for a long time, have never never changed any information whatsoever. Out of the blue, I am unable to receive my incoming messages. This has happened once before and I finally got some help and it was my incoming and outgoing server didn't match. I guess it changed during an update or something because I never went in there and changed it. Anyway, I corrected it and it started working again. Haven't had any issues until yesterday morning and I get this message when trying to receive my incoming: Account: 'mail.charter.net', Server: 'mail.charter.net', Protocol: POP3, Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Error Number: 0x800CCC19 Any ideas? I tried to look up help and it seems like my servers are set up right. Who knows?! I'm not that literate when it comes to troubleshooting internet issues, lol, but I can't afford to pay someone $60 for help. I think they do this on purpose to try and make $ off of people....Thanks! |

I don't understand your reference to "Microsoft Outlook". This newsgroup is for the Windows Mail program. In the error message you supplied there is a preceding sentence missing. Was it something like "The connection to the server has failed"?That type of error is often caused by interference from a non- compatible antivirus program. Which antivirus are you running? As a minimum, email scanning in the antivirus must be turned off, although that may not be sufficient to eliminate all bad effects. In a worst case scenario, your antivirus may need to be uninstalled. If turning off the email scanning function does not resolve your problem, consider upgrading to Windows Live Mail, because it is less prone to suffering bad effects from overly intrusive antivirus programs. http://get.live.com/wlmail/overview Email scanning in any antivirus must be disabled, for reasons explained here: http://thundercloud.net/infoave/tuto...ning/index.htm -- Gary VanderMolen, MS-MVP (Mail) "koolmomof4" <koolmomof4@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:A47CC21B-67CC-4346-BAC7-0ADDF5470C11@microsoft.com... > Hey.
