unable to get aol mail via Gmail

I am able to get my aol mail via windows mail, but am unable to get my gmail.
This is the message. Any info greatly appreciated.

I'm afraid that this is a problem with windows mail. to access Gmail you
need a secure connection on port 995 this is fuctionallity not built
into windows mail.

all is not lost though you need to get windows live mail (free from
microsoft) which is basically a replacement for the version that ships
with Vista. you can get it 'Here' (http://get.live.com/wlmail/overview)
The program is much better than the original:D. have a look on google's
help to find the settings you need once you have it downloaded and
installed

Does your setup agree with these settings?

? The error message you included was for an AOL account.
I thought your problem was with Gmail? Let us know if you also
have a problem with AOL, because your AOL settings are not optimal.

You are dead wrong. Gmail works just fine in Windows Mail if you put in
the correct port numbers.
