    0x800CCC90, Error Number: 0x800CCC92

I am using Windows Vista 32bit laptop since past 3 months and configured windows mail as well about 2 months ago. It was working fine without any problems until yesterday. Today morning when I started the laptop, suddenly I received an windows security pop up asking me for my Username and Password. Well I entered the same press enter. But the pop up box kept on coming again and again.

When I canceled this pop up box, I received the following error message:

Account: 'mail.virgin.net', Server: 'mail.virgin.net', Protocol: POP3, Server Response: '-ERR [IN-USE] Internal login failure. Refer to server log for more information.’ Port: 110, Secure (SSL): No, Server Error: 0x800CCC90, Error Number: 0x800CCC92

I don’t have any idea what could be the problem and how can I fix it. Somebody please help me out.

Your error message says “Internal login failure. Refer to server log for more information”. That means the problem is either with your Internet Service Provider or the Email provider. So you will need to check or consult with both of them. Most probably you should first check your internet connection if it is working properly. If its fine, then better call your email provider and confirm them if they have made any changes in the POP3 servers.

What are you entering in the Username column in pop box? Are you entering your name or email address? Make sure it should be Email address and not your name.

Nope, it doesn’t seems to be the internet connection problem. There is something wrong with your ISP server. I’m sure about this because I have been through this problem couple of weeks ago. After spending several hour son internet without use finally called my Comcast (my ISP) and they told me to change the incoming server to "mail.comcast.net". That’s it. I haven’t faced any problem since then.

You must check for the same at your end as well.
