| HELP!! Can't send emails with attachments I posted this error last week but still nobody has been able to help -here is the complete error I am getting when sending email with an attachment. Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of inactivity. Subject 'Fw: Baptist Press Friday 8/1/08' Server: 'smtp-server.hot.rr.com' Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCC0F Protocol: SMTP Port: 25 Secure(SSL): No Socket Error: 10053 This error came up when I was just using Windows Mail and now that I have downloaded Windows Live Mail - it is happening again. When there is an email in my "outbox" it will not retrieve new mail either. I have checked with our server (hot.rr.com) and they say it is a Windows Live Mail Problem. Please someone help. 1. How large is the attachment? 2. Are you using an anti-virus program that checks email, or an anti-spam program? |

Can't send emails with attachments Actually it is an email that was forwarded to me - it doesn't matter the size of the attachment - nothing can be sent as long as it is considered an attachment. If it is forwarded to me and I forward it, it won't go; if it is a new email with special stationery, it won't go; if it is a simple email with a web address attached, it won't go. Have disabled windows firewall and also trend microvirus protection. Very frustrating. Thinking of buying microsoft outlook to see if we can email out of that. Also this has nothing to do with my hotmail account - this is a personal email account at hot.rr.com - also our hot.rr.com account works through the "webmail" site. Please help. -- lb1006 |

Have you considered uninstalling Trend completely. Trend is one of a few Anti Virus that is not compatible. Uninstall it and test. Install Avast or AVG. they are more suited to WM I have to go with Peter's recommendation. Uninstall Trend Micro, then see if that fixed the problem. |

Email scanning should be turned off in any anti-virus. Also exclude EML files from the scan. It provides no protection not provided by the regular resident protection. Besides that, McAfee and Norton are not compatible with Windows Mail and Outlook Express and should be uninstalled. The latest version of Trend's anti-virus seems to be causing problems too. |

You should go to your Outlook tools, accounts, then change and then more settings and then tick "My outgoing server (SMTP) requires autenthication". Check the radio button "log on using" then type your email (full email) then the email account password. It should resolve your problem. |

I have recieved the same error message. I made the corrections give by "mazzaro" which did not correct the problem. Do you have any other suggestions?
