I am using windows vista mail, it was working fine from past 3 months since the time I configured it, but from past 2 days when I am trying to receive mail it gives me the error message An unknown error has occurred. Account: 'pop.gmail.com', Server: 'pop.gmail.com', Protocol: POP3, Port: 995, Secure(SSL): Yes, Error Number: 0x80004005 I am unsure why this happening at my end, does anyone over here facing the same problem with Windows Vista Mail?

Even I was facing the same issues windows vista mail, but the problem with my account it was corrupt. You can try deleting your mail account, restart windows mail, then recreate the account. If this doesn't resolve your problem, please post the complete error message.

Then logout and try WM again.

I am also facing the same problem with Windows Vista Mail, its driving me crazy all the time now. Can someone here post the proper solution how to resolve this problem. I don't think there is any solution to resolve this problem. I am checking for more articles to fix this issues asap.

I just had this error today, Windows Vista Mail Error No 0x80004005.

I was working on the computer today, my windows live was opened, the computer lost power. I rebooted and Mail got the above error.
I closed everything and rebooted the computer, went back into windows live and received the same error. I did some google searches and noticed some people with this error could send messages but could not receive them. So I sent a message to myself and to my surprise it cleared up everything and my mail is working normal now. Anyone who has this problem should try to send an email to their own email account, hopefully this may make your mail work correctly again. My server was - Server: 'pop.att.yahoo.com'
Hope it works for someone else also.

I have the same problem as SOURAV. Able to access my mail thru server acct. but not thru windows mail. Have windows vista. Tried doing restore, didn;t fix problem.
any suggestions. Keep in mind, I am NOT a computer geek, so keep any instructions simple plse.
