| Program associations and file type extension
Hi, I am struggling to open up attachments sent into my windows mail inbox. These file types include (.DOC and .IE5/XJPE). It prompts me set the default program associations in the control panel, but it still wont open with the recommended programs. When using internet explorer as the default it says that it cannot open and requests that I search the internet for a solution but still does not open. This is happening with all my attachments and I do not know the associations or file extensions to use. Please help as I am in distress, ta! |

For .DOC attachments, are you able to save the attachment, and then open the saved document outside of Windows Mail? If yes, apply this fix: http://www.winhelponline.com/article...dows-Mail.html If not, you will need to install Word, or the free Word Viewer. I'm not familiar with document type IE5/XJPE. Can the sender tell you what application is supposed to open those? -- Gary VanderMolen, MS-MVP (Mail) "kamogelo moiloa" <kamo.moiloa@telkomsa.net> wrote in message news:A7F9CD3D-B48E-4440-9107-3B18A794CECF@microsoft.com... > Hi, > > I am struggling to open up attachments sent into my windows mail inbox. > These file types include (.DOC and .IE5/XJPE).
