directx surface unavailable

i have a windows vista XPS, and wen i want to play cashflow 101 appears this
message "directx surface unabvailable"
how can i fix this?

Install the latest version of DirectX. The game probably needs a DX9 file
that doesn't come with Vista.

I was able use a restore point on my windows XP computer and the error went away. RichDad is no longer supporting the software as of 12/2009
