Vista crashes (blue screen) after a few minutes while playing any game

Hey guys, need some quick help for my computer. I am having a desktop running with AMD 4200 X2 dual core, Radeon x1900xt, 3 Gb RAM and 7600 maxtor drive. I usually pay games on this PC. Earlie ri was running Windows XP SP2 on this and all my games were running fine. Last week I upgraded the same to Windows Vista and since theme whenever I play video games (especially 3D) games, my system crashes. I directly show me a Blue Screen with the following:

    "Stop 0x00000124 (0x00000000, 0x8463F9A8, 0xB2000000, 0x00070F0F)"

And when the computer restarts, I get the following under Error Information:

    Problem signature:
    Problem Event Name: BlueScreen
    OS Version: 6.0.6000.2.0.0.256.1
    Locale ID: 1033

    Additional information about the problem:
    BCCode: 124
    BCP1: 00000000
    BCP2: 8463F9A8
    BCP3: B2000000
    BCP4: 00070F0F
    OS Version: 6_0_6000
    Service Pack: 0_0
    Product: 256_1

Files that help describe the problem:
    C:\Windows\Minidump\Mini042307-01.dmp
    C:\Windows\Temp\WER-24375-0.sysdata.xml
    C:\Windows\Temp\WER759D.tmp.version.txt
Any idea what could be the problem and how it can be fixed ?

There can be just two reasons for the same. Either the game is not compatible with Windows Vista or you have drivers issue.

There are many games that work fine on Windows XP but not on Windows Vista. You should check their system requirements whether they are made for Vista as well. Other than this, you should visit ATI websites and check for drivers if there is any update available.

Am too facing the same problem with Vista. Infact exactly the same error code. I made some queries on various forums. One of them replied me to change my video card. Well, I followed his advice and replaced my Video Card but unfortunately still getting the same problem.

This is my new HP media center bought just 4 days ago running with Windows Vista. Even this gives me BSOD with the same error but only when I play any SOUND clips such as songs, videos or even system sounds.

As a work around I upgraded both my Video as well as Audio driver but that dint helped. Somebody please help me fixing this problem, as this is just a 4 days old system.

I fixed the problem on my machine. I updated the mobo bios and loaded the
default settings. Try going to your mobo's website and downloading a bios
update. It worked and my computer hasn't locked up since. It is great.

    Hi Synn85,

After looking at your minidumps, many of them indicate a "hardware" error without specifics; others point to memory management drivers, Yukon ethernet driver, Nvidia, and intel chipset drivers -- quite a list. You might want to give the ram some thorough testing. You can try Vista's built-in tester for starters. (run mdsched.exe). When the sytem reboots and you reach the user interface, press F1 for the advanced menu and run the extended tests.
