How to remove sp3 download file

SP# hangs when it gets about 75% done
it just stops. The screen says it is "Running Processes
    after Install."
I want to remove that downloaded sp3 file, and also
everything in the registry. msconfig, etc. that trys to
restart the upgrade. What is the the file name of the sp3
download? What files, commands trigger installation?
    Thank you.
