Problem updating kb 940105

I’m trying to install a Windows Vista update, the kb 940105 package. When I
click on the link it asks me to validate so I click continue. Then it say’s,
“Look for the Internet Explorer Information Bar near the top of your Web
browser.”
I do not see the window to install the active control, so I click alternate
method and click continue but the “Internet Explorer cannot display the
webpage.”

I also found a window to validate windows and I get tje error, “Validation
Not Completed: ActiveX Error.” I click continue and run the diagnostic and
get these results…

Passed Active scripting allowed
Passed Display images enabled
Passed Computer tine and date correct
Passed Cookies enabled
Passes ActiveX enabled
Failed Windows validation ActiveX loaded
Failed Office validation ActiveX loaded
Failed Validation Self-help ActiveX loaded

Is my activeX control stopping my update? If so, how do I get my activeX
control working? I really want to install the updates. Is there anywhere
else to find the Microsoft updates kb 940105, kb 938194 and kb 938979? I
even used msconfig to disable my Norton Protection Center but it still
doesn't work.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Have you contacted Symantec regarding Norton's just in case that's blocking pop ups?
