See if your OS gives a different response to a net helpmsg 6800
command?

As usual it doesn't seem very informative using just the code to try to
deduce what is wrong. Try searching all files which were changed by the
update for any instances of the code (in both its decimal and hexadecimal
representations.) Assuming you find log files that way (or other diagnostics)
see if the context(s) that you find the code in give you any more clues.

It would help if your Me too! would at least addresss some of the comments
which were given to the OP previously...

or repeat the cross-post I made...
That was in August. What's new?...
Ah. I wonder if you are reporting the correct code?

I have the same error when trying to install Vista SP1, when I run net help
I get the following msg:
The function attempted to use a name that is reserved for use by another
transaction.
I have 25 updats that are failed because of that same code and there is no
information on that code. Why is there a code exisiting if no one can tell
you what it means? No idea what to do. They are supposedly important updates
and then there a few more recomended updates that failed with the same code
as well. Any help?
To avoid confusion, please begin a new thread about your specific problem
and computer. State your IE version and full Windows version (e.g., WinXP
SP3; WinXP 64-bit SP2; Vista SP1; Vista 64-bit SP2; Win7; Win7 64-bit) in
your first post.
