Hi ive got the same problem. any solution yet ?
When you try to install an update for the .NET Framework 1.0, 1.1, or 2.0,
you may receive Windows Update error code "0x643" or Windows Installer error
code "1603":

Hi,
I cannot deinstall the previous versions of .NET framework. Version 1.1
references a temporary directory doesn't exist anymore
("C:\DOKUME~1\LFRIED~1\LOKALE~1\Temp\IXP000.TMP\"). Version 2.0 ends in
setup.exe with "any problem occured" in a report dialog.
Do you have any other way to repair the .NET installation?
Thanks in advance

Hi,
I had the same problem. I also began getting error messages about my
video drivers after boot-up.
My cure was to uninstall the installed video driver via the add/remove
program in the control panel. Then I ran the windows update to
install the Framework 3.0 which it installed flawlessly. I then
downloaded and installed the latest video driver. The driver
installation instructions did mention to install Framework prior to
installing the driver. Everything is back to normal now with all
windows updates current.
My suggestion to you is to find out if there is a conflict or another
issue that may be hindering framework from installing, manually
uninstall it, install framework and then the latest driver for the
affected hardware.
Just a suggestion, hope it helps.
