| Code 80073712
Hi, My update have not worked as of 7/14/2007 with vista. I have searched the microsoft site and also have search numerous other sites looking for the answer why. I have also tried to remove the reg in cmd (a fix on your site) with no luck. Also with my problem and soulutions in the control panel, a trouble report has been sent to microsoft almost every day and it always comes back with no solution or fix. I guess I am just looking for a straight forward answer. Is microsoft working on this issue to try and find a patch or fix that will work ? Thank you for your time !!! |

I have exactly the same problem and it occured at about the same time. If you hear anything back on this I will definitely be interested in what is said. Good luck to us. I think a Vista reinstall is on the horizon. Thanks. "NAOMI" wrote: > Thanks for the help. I just filed the request. Hopefully they will come back > to me with an answer. Hi, Guys Microsoft replyed. They send me a nice long e-mail with instruction to check the update service and etc. All of my services are they way they should be. I had to rename the windows update software and etc but none of the suggestions fixed it. He asked me to e-mail him back with the windows update log. I just did and I will let you know what he says once he takes a look at it and replies. "Marv" wrote: > I have exactly the same problem and it occured at about the same time. This was so dumb. I had the same problem, and to fix it all I had to do was disable windows firewall under Control Panel. Hope it works for all of you. I guess you were referaring to the other guys fix. Yes it did not work. Microsoft never got back to me, so i am to believe that they know of the problem but do not have a fix. I did find my own fix though. I did want to lose vista and all of my stuff on my computer by resetting or reinstalling vista so, I went to the security and updates on the microsoft site (under home user) and their is a place were you can manually upload the updates for vista. I think it is on the bottom of the page in small print (the link) It took me around a hour to get all the updates in my computer but it worked and so far so good. I still get the error when it tries to update on it's own but i just let it send all the errors to microsoft. They will get tired of it one day and fix it. Microsoft also said on the site that they release new updates every tuesday i think of every month. So I will keep and eye on them and just manually down load them till them come up with a fix for the problem. I hope this help anyone who has the same problem as i have had. Take Care !!! I thought i would add the step by step to help anyone who needs the help. 1. go to www.microsoft.com. 2. Click on security and updates on right hand 3. click on home users 4. click on latest security updates 5. then click on the box on the link for the download center 6. You should then see updates for vista as far as security or the links to download (you can also find other updates for other programs you have in the download center that you can manually update) "NAOMI" wrote: > I guess you were referaring to the other guys fix. Hi Naomi, Thanks for your input. I have been installing those updates that failed to install through the Automatic Windows Update. However, I am still having the same proble. It seems to have started just recently. I have been reading all of the comments on this error 80073712. I just finished checking the Programs and Features Add/Remove, and found out that the screen comes up blank (which I had read earlier where someone else had the same problem. I will have to re-read each of the comments or contact MS for help. Again, my thanks to you. Naomi, Thanks for your comments. How you explained to get the updates and install them, I have been doing that for the past 2 months of monthly updates (Update Tuesday) How ever, I am still having the problem with the Auto Windows Updater still giving me the error #80073712. I also checked the issue of a blank screen in Programs and Features, adding/removing a feature and getting the blank screen. I am going to have to go back and read each of the comments referencing the error 80073712. I have tried most of the attempted solutions, and without success. Again, my thanks.
