    Illegal System DLL Relocation

after i installed an update about a month ago i started getting the following
    message after startup:

Check.exe - Illegal System DLL Relocation

The system DLL user32.dll was relocated in memory. The application will not
run properly. The relocation occured because the DLL
C:\WINDOWS\system32\SHELL32.dll occupied an address range reserved for
Windows system DLLs. The vendor supplying the DLL should be contacted for a
    new DLL.

since then i can't run the windows calculator, some apps won't start or when
i try to install some apps they won't install i just get the error message,
    system restore isn't working either

i hope that someone can help me

    Re: Illegal System DLL Relocation

The issue most likely stems from the installation of KB925902:

Certain programs may not start, and you receive an error message on a
computer that is running Windows XP Service Pack 2: "Illegal System DLL
    Relocation"
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/935448/

Please read the ' Steps to resolve the problem ' section and post back
if the suggested steps do not resolve the issue.

Thanks for telling us afterwards instead of BEFORE someone attempted to
    assist you.

Are any of the products listed on this page present ? :
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/935448

Is KB925902 listed in Add/Remove Programs in the Control Panel ?
If yes, uninstall it and then *restart* the system
Download the update from here and SAVE it:
    http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...3-10AC20A75020

IF the Realtek HD Audio Control Panel is present, then suggest you
either visit their web site and obtain the latest driver or, install
    KB935448 PRIOR to installing KB925902:
    http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en

Restart the system and then install KB925902.
    Restart once more.
Did that resolve the issue ?

You're on Windows XP SP2? If true, uninstall the Style/Transition/Brico
Pack etc. you've installed to change the look of Windows XP - and ask the
"vendor" of those "Packs" and/or "Styles" for a new, compatible version
if you feel you really need these eyecatchers.

sorry next time i'll ask for help before i do anything
    KB925902 wasn't listed in Add/Ramove programs so i installed KB935448 and
then KB925902 but it didn't help, i don't have the Realtek HD Audio Control
Panel installed but the Realtek AC'97 Audio and Realtek Gigabit and Fast
Ethernet NIC Driver, i don'tknow maybe that's causing the problem

Re: "Illegal System DLL Relocation" - Registry Error

Certain programs may not start, and you receive an error message on a
computer that is running Windows XP Service Pack 2: "Illegal System DLL
    Relocation"

No need for the registry cleaner that may cause more damage than it fixes.

AUMHA Discussion: Should I Use a Registry Cleaner?

The misuse of a registry cleaner may result in having to reinstall your
operating system and the loss of important data etc.

    Illegal System DLL Relocation

The short version is that the Windows registry is not designed to be "cleaned".
If I may venture an analogy, it's like taking your computer apart and
scrubbing it with disinfectant. It just shouldn't happen.

What windows operating system are you trying to install the service packs? Did you check properly on the windows update website whether you need to obtain any service packs or updates for your version of Operating System or not. If you reformat the hard drive and install a new OS, the old installation will be lost including all service packs.

Could you perhaps tried to do a system restore to before the problem started? How long has it been since you had your computer wiped out? Do you have any virus protection? Normally, the User32.dll problem that you are experiencing may be addressed by a Windows product update. To open Windows Update, follow these steps:
Click Start, and then click Run.
Copy and paste (or type) the following command in the Run box, and then press ENTER:
    wupdmgr
