Blue Screen Error after Updating Vista!

    Hi Fellas!
I've just downloaded and installed the update KB925528 for Vista X86 (Build
6000). When I did restart my computer after update installation, while
booting Windows, I faced with a Blue Screen. So I used Windows Vista DVD and
    repaired my Windows.
I wanna know, what's wrong with this update (or maybe with my PC)???

    The Technical Information are:
    STOP: 0x0000000A (0x00000000, 0x0000001B, 0x00000001, 0x81C67449)

    Thanks a lot...

    <QP>0x0000000A: IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
Typically due to a bad driver, or faulty or incompatible hardware or
software...Technically, this error condition means that a kernel-mode
process or driver tried to access a memory location to which it did not have
permission, or at a kernel Interrupt ReQuest Level (IRQL) that was too high.
(A kernel-mode process can access only other processes that have an IRQL
lower than, or equal to, its own.)

    Thanks you!
But I think I found the problem!
When I set AC97 Audio to Disabled on BIOS, there was no Blue Screen error. I
think this type of error depends on Realtek on-board sound card.

Anyone has any comment or solution for this issue???

Sounds like an "incompatible hardware or software" problem to me...

Re: Blue Screen Error after Updating Vista!

I too had BSOD problems with my new SR2129UK Compaq Presario. I found that if
I disabled onboard audio from the BIOS the system was perfectly stable with
no hangs. After updating my Realtek audio driver the period between BSODs is
much better... but it is still not cured.

Vista seems to be in BETA phase !!!

Re: Blue Screen Error after Updating Vista!

    Hi there,

It is not advised to take any drivers from WU, IF a hardware device is not
working properly take the driver update from the manufacturers website.

Try to roll back on the driver or use system restore.

    Best regards,

RE: Blue Screen Error after Updating Vista!

    Hello fellas!
I solved my problem. I reinstalled Windows Vista and Vista didn't recognize
Realtek as usual. So, I used Windows Update and gave me a Realtek driver that
works fine with Vista and I've never seen the Blue Screen errors after
    updating so far.
I suggest people who have Realtek On-board Sound Card to do this and get
    their driver.
By the way, I found where Vista copies the downloaded update files. So, you
    can keep them forever!!!
    The path is:
    "X:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download"

    Good Luck...
