I'm having the same problem that Eddie have, i don't know what to do..!
Who's Eddie and what is his problem ? We have no idea whom and what you
are referring to.
0x80070005 is an ACCESS DENIED error, usually related to a Permissions

When you inform us of just what your's and Eddie's problem is, then
perhaps someone can assist you.

I'm having the same error code w/ trying to install update for HP 2207 wide
LCD screen monitor
Get the update from HP's web site. SAVE it, close the browser and any
other open programs.
*RIGHT* click the downloaded driver and choose 'Run as administrator'
Enter the password or click Continue.
Did that get it installed ?
I'm having the same error. I have no HP software. I am thee only operator
on this computer (I have administrator's rights).
Permissions registry. I have a store-bought copy of MS Office Premium. The
only other programs installed are those that came with the computer (Sony
Vaio).
I'm getting the same 80070005 error as these guys while trying to do a

error code does not show up in help to offer any solutions.

*Problem b is solved thru manual updating Windows Defender*
THanks a ton. I didn't do all of above steps but with your inputs I found
out that my software distribution folder was marked as hidden and readonly.
when I removed both of above attributes It worked like charm.
THanks much
I tried these steps and still the same problem don't know what to do next.
To avoid confusion, please begin a new thread about your specific problems.
State your IE version and full Windows version (e.g., WinXP SP3; Vista SP2)
in your first post.
Selina, don't hijack old threads,
One of the most common causes of this error code is the Anti Virus and Anti
Spyware software programs running on the computer.
You can try turning them off and then try the updates again. Keep the
firewall on though.

If that doesn't assist, please start a new thread stating what update you're

Could you please explain it more open? I'd tried the steps that "stossmann"
suggested but nothing improved so far.
I've followed, a number of times, the steps you provide and continue to
receive the 80070005 error. I'm using Windows Vista Home Premium on an HP
Pavilion m9250f quad core and the HP w2408h monitor.
