I've just reloaded Win XP Pro SP2 on a couple of PCs and as part of my set up
routine I "upgrade" Windows Update to Microsoft Update. As soon as I did this
(on both machines) Microsoft Update hung on the first scan for updates and
svchost.exe started taking 50% of the CPU. When I switched off Microsoft
Update (in Windows Update settings) everything went back to normal. However,
I now can't automatically download the updates for the other Microsoft
software on these machines.
Can anyone help?
