There are known issues with this update which are often related to Antivirus
program scriptblockers, in particular Norton AV, but may be seen with others
like script scanning protection in McAfee.

    1. If you dont still have it redownload the KB925876 x64 version to the
    desktop from here:
    http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en
    2. Go to add/remove programs making sure show updates is checked at the top.
Uninstall KB925876 which is probably listed even though not properly
    installed. Then reboot.
    3. Go into Norton or whatever AV you are using and disable script blocking.
    4. Install KB925876 from the installer on desktop. Reboot if not prompted.
    5. Go back into AV program and re-enable script blocking

Hope this works for you- Charlie

Oh crud, I have seen one other report like which was resolved by installing
in safe mode after the initial uninstall and the turn off of script
debugging, again may or may not work. Hopefully someone else may be able to
offer more insight if this fails as well. Sorry I couldn't be of more
    assistance. - Charlie
