    kb 931125 Root Certificate Update

    Windows Update Website failes repeatedly for this update (Software, an
    optional).

    KB 921125 Root Certificate Update

    Error Code (via History) is: 0x80246008

    I don't have IE7 (noted the description), IE 6, with latest (thus far).
    Win XP MCE 2006 (SP2).

    Looking at kb & msdn articles, could see no reason this might not be for me
    (could be wrong, & IE 7 is needed first). I have see seen Revocation
    certificates messages lately. (I'm don't really do much with cert's, shame I
    know...)

    What's the error code?

    Thanks.

    Try a search?

    http://docxp.mvps.org/WU5-ERR.htm

    (Live Search for
    0x80246008 microsoft codes
    )

    <quote>
    0x80246008 -2145099768 SUS E DM FAILTOCONNECTTOBITS Failed to create the IBackgroundCopyManager interface to BITS. The BITS
    service may have been disabled

    </quote>

    I would try using in a cmd window:

    bitsadmin /util /version /verbose

    to check on the status of your BITS service and its software.

    However, you could also find more conventional resolutions
    with other equally simple searches, on the web, using your newsreader's
    search tool or on the Microsoft Support site.
