Windows (Vista Business) could not search for new updates. Code 80244019
I have installed Windows Vista Business Edition over XP with all
service packs and security patches installed. My computer is a Dell
OptiPlex GX280 with a P4 3 GHz processor and 2 GB of RAM. I have 53 GB
free on my hard drive.
Following the install I followed the Vista task list and attempted to
update the system. Each time I have received the following message:
Windows could not search for new updates. Code 80244019. I cannot
change from automatic to manual, nor can I find a reason for this
error. I posted to the Windows Vista community but have not received
Has any one out there experienced the same error and did you find (or
hear of) a solution?

I tried this but it did not work. If someone has the answer to this please
Mines a clean Vista Business install.
> Microsoft said the solution was to set IE to automatically detect your lan settings in the internet options. Definetly didn't fix it for me but it doesn't hurt to try it.
