    windows defender error message 0x80080005

After trying to check for updates on windows defender I recieved this message:
The program can't check for definition updates error found: code 0x80080005.
I tried searching solutions to the issue on the trouble shooting microsoft
tips website but I cannot find a solution to this problem. Has anyone had
this problem before, how do I solve it?

Defender final was released on 23 Oct-06. Support for Defender Beta2 ended
    31 Dec-06. Upgrade ASAP:

See this KB article which has many suggestions & tips:

Microsoft has established separate newsgroups for Windows Defender support
and comments. This is not one of them.

I read a little bit deeper into Microsofts explanation for this error (there isn't one), but I did glean a resolution to updating Windows Defender. Here is a link taking you to the Microsoft site where you can manually download and install the updates. It worked perfectly for me: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/923159/

Pardon the french assinine idiot, but I just came across the problem. And where were you three years ago? If you're so smart, why didn't you put up a resolution three years ago? I wouldn't have had to find the resolution myself. If you haven't had the problem then shut up. If you do have the problem then hey, it's fixed, isn't it, you idiot?

It kills me to have to keep educating the morons who can't read. First of
all, moron, I'm replying to you assuming your response is to me. Having not
quoted any of the previous message for all to read, you've achieved moron
status 2.0. You're not posting only to Techarena. Your stupidity has been
    posted to microsoft.public.windowsupdate, a newsgroup.
