KB923789 Security Update for Flash Player Won't Install

I've tried twice and this update fails to install properly. I've searched
the Find Solutions database for kb923789 and received no results.

The only informatin I cen get as to what went wrong is Error Code 0x643.

I too have tried three times and this update fails to install. .

All you provide is Error Code 0x643 which is no help to me.

I am also getting this failed message. i have also tried about three times.

Have any of you installed the IE7 update? I haven't yet.

Being as my flash player is up to date as of yesterday, I guess that's
why Window's update didn't show KB923789 when I went there.

Even I have updted flash player there comes the error message!

Been there, done that. Several times.
I've uninstalled and reinstalled Flash - problem still exists: Error code:
0x643
I've attempted to install the update many multiple times over a period of
weeks with no luck.

Window IE7 won't run some website Flash programs.
(However, FireFox will run them...but with occasional warnings.)

What next?

From what I have read it seems this update is for users of IE? I use firefox and am also getting the "failed" result. Should I just not bother since I use firefox? Thnx.

That's a *really* old update.
Instead, go here and see what Version is installed in Firefox:
http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/welcome/
IF Shockwave is installed, the system will be prompted to update to the
latest Version if it's an earlier release.
The page will also show which Version of Flash Player is installed in
Firefox but it won't automatically prompt to update older, vulnerable
versions.

As long as IE is *never* used to view flash content, then the system
won't be exploited by the vulnerability described in MS06-069.

Frankly speaking, you can ignore KB923789 and run the FP uninstaller to
remove any chance of exploitation using IE

NOTE: This will remove Adobe Flash Player from all browsers on the system

Then download and install the standalone FP installer for Firefox:
