But have you contacted BT to see if it their problem. IE7 groups below IE7 questions should be posted to the Internet Explorer General newsgroup as below - In your Newsreader: news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsof...plorer.general If you need to use the Web Interface - http://www.microsoft.com/communities...plorer.general Antioch |

<snip> Taken from here: http://www.ie-vista.com/known_issues.html#tpa PSAPI errors Affected software includes BT Broadband Help (BT Yahoo Help), Motive SmartBridge, Hal Screen Reader and Supernova Reader Magnifier by Dolphin. The fix is to go to the installation location for the affected software. Find PSAPI.DLL in the installation location for the affected software and rename it to something else, such as PSAPIOLD.DLL. **Do not rename the PSAPI.DLL file in your \\Windows\System32 directory. ** Restart the computer. -- <snip> Of course, you read the release notes:- Before you install IE, make sure you read the release notes: http://msdn.microsoft.com/ie/releasenotes/default.aspx Installation Errors Updating or Reinstalling Internet Explorer 7 Uninstalling Internet Explorer 7 RC1 Uninstalling Internet Explorer 7 Beta 3, Beta 2, Beta 2 Preview, or Beta 1 Internet Explorer 7 Fails to Uninstall from Specified User Account Application Compatibility Toolkit Beta 5.0 Available Hal Screen Reader and Supernova Reader Magnifier by Dolphin-- PSAPI.DLL Upgrading Internet Explorer 7 from a previous build (not uninstalling Internet Explorer 7 first) can leave the computer in a confusing state for users who require Assistive Technology programs Starting Internet Explorer without incompatible browser extensions or malware Resetting Enhanced Security Configuration (ESC) Defaults on Server Machine Accessing websites that only work with Internet Explorer 6 RSS feed detection button SharePoint Accessing Microsoft Office files online fails to install (Vista only) Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004 SAP GUI GE Pathspeed ActiveX Control Microsoft Office Handwriting Recognition Service Freedom Scientific Internet Explorer 7 and Outlook Web Access (OWA) Toolbars that are incompatible with Internet Explorer 7 Website Connectivity Issues etc etc -- ================================== TaurArian [MS-MVP] 2005-2007 - Australia ================================== http://www.dts-l.org/goodpost.htm Need more help? http://support.microsoft.com/?scid=ph;en-us;6527 (Links to web pages and MSKB Articles are posted for the purposes of keeping the information current) "Brick" <Brick@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:4E5EA9F6-C7CB-4096-AC50-7255B7B46895@microsoft.com... | When I downloaded the recommended update to IE7 I recieved the following | error alert for BT Broadband Help Notifier:- | | SMART BRIDGE ALERT | GET PROCESSIMAGEFILENAMEW COULD NOT BE LOCATED IN THE DYNAMIC LINK LIBRARY | PSAPI.DLL | | BT Broadband desk top help stopped working after that. Motive SmartBridge© is distributing an old version of PSAPI.DLL. As a result, users might receive the following error message after installation of Internet Explorer 7: "SmartBridge Alerts:MotiveSB.exe Entry Point Not Found The procedure entry point GetProcessImageFileNameW could not be located in the dynamic link library PSAPI.DLL" To work around this error: * Go to the installation location for SmartBridge (\Program Files\Verizon...\Smart...) * Find PSAPI.DLL and rename it to something like PSAPIOLD.DLL * NB: Do NOT rename the PSAPI.DLL file in C:\Windows\System32 directory! * Restart the computer. Just renaming PSAPI.DLL does not cure the problem with BT Broadband Help - you still get script errors. BT claim they're working on this but at the moment their only solution is to revert to IE6. John |

Hi, I had same problem. Traced offending psapi.dll to broadband medic (program files\ntl\broadband and uninstalled broadband medic program. (renaming file caused internet connection to fail) may need to re-enable the USB cable modem through device manager after uninstalling medic "Brick" wrote: > When I downloaded the recommended update to IE7 I recieved the following > error alert for BT Broadband Help Notifier:- > > SMART BRIDGE ALERT > GET PROCESSIMAGEFILENAMEW COULD NOT BE LOCATED IN THE DYNAMIC LINK LIBRARY > PSAPI.DLL > > BT Broadband desk top help stopped working after that.
