Windows 2003 SP1 "Failed to install catalog files" (error 0x80092004)

Hi W2003 SP1 support team

I've tried to install W2003 SP1, the setup terminates with "Failed to
install catalog files".

Bellow are the last few lines that I think are relevant, can please
someone look into this

Martin,

I have someone from Microsoft looking at this problem for me as well. I am
unable to use Windows Update, SUS, or manually install the SP - When I get an
answer, I will forward it on.

I managed to install W2003 SP1 by doing the following (I am not sure
what exactly corrected the problem)

1.) At the command prompt, type the following commands, pressing ENTER
after each line:
net stop cryptsvc
ren %systemroot%\System32\Catroot2 oldcatroot2
net start cryptsvc
exit

2.) Deleted all files in
%systemroot%\System32\CatRoot\{F750E6C3-38EE-11D1-85E5-00C04FC295EE}
that begin with tmp*.cat.

I had SP1 lockup on the first atempt, after that it undid the install
and kept failing to install SP1.

This solution worked for me to.
I had tried all 8 sugestions in
http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;822798
without any luck.
- I think removing the tmp files did the trick.
