    Error Code: 80004002

UpdateHas anybody any idea about this error code - I get whilst the system is
trying to install the following: Update for Background Intelligen Transfer
Service (BITS) 2.0 and WinHTTP 5.1 (KB842773). I have tried this on a brand
new installation with SP1 and on a sytem which has in the past downloaded
lots of updates without a problem. Both systems are using V5 in place of V4

    Neil,

Can you please send me (not the newsgroup) the %windir%\windowsupdate.log
and %windir%\kb842773.log files from your computer?

    Thanks.

    Derek

Probably dumb question - how do I send the files to you?

    Re: Error Code: 80004002

This is a known issue when your computer does not have BITS 1.5 installed,
and when it is accessing the Internet via a proxy server that requires
    authentication.

To work around this, please manually download BITS 2.0 at this link
    http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...DisplayLang=en

Once BITS 2.0 is installed, you should not encounter this issue with other
    downloads.

    Thanks.

    Derek
