Windows detected the webcam, installed the drivers, but when I try to use
no image is show. I tried to use in MSN, Skype and the native image capture
software. Nothing.
Someone knows anything about this?

1) Go to the deloper site & download the correct Vista drivers
http://download.geniusnet.com.tw/webcam/
The bottom one in the list is your webcam. Its 3.26 MB
http://download.geniusnet.com.tw/web...essenger_V.zip
2) Go to the Vista newsgroup & ask them

Note:
When I was beta testing Vista there were no drivers for Logitech cams then &
they are a named product unlike Genius
I have the same problem buddy..! Everything looks
normal.....except that the screen is blank.! So, if u were able to resolve
your problem.... could u pls. help me with it...
installed proper driver from the site mentioned by u..but still don't
work..!! Any more suggestions..?
I went to the developers site:
Click on ENGLISH at the top
Click ON SUPPORT & choose DRIVERS
Choose WEBCAM from the top list
Choose VCAM MESSENGER from the second list
Now choose WINDOWS VISTA & click the download link which will open a new window
Here is the driver link it takes me too:
It says V before zip so I guess that means VISTA
Info on that popup window:
Product Model VideoCAM Messenger
OS Windows Vista
Version
File Size 3.26MB
Release Date 2007/05/04
File Name VCMessenger_V.zip
Description Driver for Windows Vista 32bit
well sorry man, I ve already tried the procedure that u ve
mentioned several times, everything goes on as expected, but the when the
amcap application window is opened, it just shows a blank screen. My system
is intsalled with W. Vista Home Basic x32 with pre installed DirectX 10.
The original installation cd used to upload the driver was
corrupt and cudn't be uninstalled, hence had to perform system restore.
Suspect that it hasn't helped and some files may still exisist from
previously.
Hope u cud suggest how to locate and remove those files.
If its the VideoCam Eye from Genius you have then the V2 driver from there website does NOT work on Vista or Windows 7 its only designed for XP. You will get the blank screen in msn etc if you use this driver. The driver you need Vista and Windows 7 will download for you. Strangely the driver is a Trust driver. The Trust 14823 driver will allow your Genius Videocam eye web cam to work in Vista and Windows 7. In Vista uninstall any drivers you have installed for it and then do an automatic search for the driver, Vista will find the correct driver and install it. If its Windows 7 RC1 your using or earlier you will need to run Windows Update make sure the cam is installed first with the old driver from the Genius website the update manager will then offer you a number of optional updates one of those updates is the Trust 14823 driver tick it and it will automatically download and update your old driver. I have this web cam and it works perfectly in Vista and Windows 7.
I have windows 7 and tried your procedure. It does not work. WIndows update gets a different driver (Sonix).
Do you have the files that work? If you send them to me I would really appreciate it.
I just follow the explanations of Dragonwight and... I got a black screen on Skype.
=> I go to the Skype options panel / video / webcam parameters and I reduce the USB bandwith to the minimum (default is max). And... it works !!!
If I put the bandwith somewhere in the middle, video crash... But it could come from my computer because it is quite old.
