Update Windows XP KB973688

Can anyone tell me what the problem is with this update? I have tried to
install it 4 times and it won't install. Went to Microsoft's website and
found that it had 0 bytes to install! What gives?

0 Bytes is not how much you have to install - it is how much you have to
download (0 bytes because you have already downloaded it.)

Did you manually download it and install it?

Ok, so it's not a security update. But can anyone tell me what this
update does? I've read the info from the microsoft page, but it's
greek to me - I have no idea what they are talking about. Do I have
to install this? What will happen if I don't?

I installed this update yesterday and it has stopped me from watching videos on the NBA website. I can still view videos on Youtube fine. It says on the update that it cannot be removed. If I were you I would not install it.

Tried doing a system restore but it won't let me. Any ideas on how to undo the damage this has done?
