Derek, I am having the exact same problem. I'm running XP Pro SP3 with an
otherwise fully updated system. Anyone heard of any solutions? I can't find
anything on technet for this yet.

I am having the same problem, I haven't found a solution yet, but I was told
to make sure the services related to SQL Server are running and not set to
disable.
