| [Error number: 0x80072EFE] on 29Jul2009 after Microsoft Auto. Upda
To Whom It May Concern: I just finished getting an automatic Update from MS (Windows XP O.S.) and I went to the Microsoft web site to see if there were anymore updates and I keep receiving the [Error number: 0x80072EFE], and the system times out without seeing if there are any updates. Can someone please help fix this issue and tell me why i am getting it. There are only Error message info. from 2005 and 2006 relating to this problem on your knowledge base and Microsoft Discussion Groups. |

Dan, Was the system rebooted after the updates were auotmically installed ? 0x80072EFE ERROR_INTERNET_CONNECTION_ABORTED may well indicate that the system needs a reboot prior to checking for more updates. IF the system was already rebooted, see: You may encounter temporary connection-related errors when you use Windows Update or Microsoft Update to install updates http://support.microsoft.com/kb/836941 > These errors may occur caused by any of the following issues: > > * Applications or processes that interfere with Internet communications > * Resource issues on your computer > * Too much activity on the update site > * High Internet activity > * Recoverable database errors > * Server time-out issues on the Windows Update or Microsoft Update site MowGreen =============== *-343-* FDNY Never Forgotten =============== |
