KB961371 and KB971633 won't install

I receive error code 0x80070005 when trying to install these. The problem
seems to occur after I updated to .NET Framework 3.5, service pack 1. I have
Windows XP SP3 and Windows Internet Explorer 8. I have an old (6 years)
computer with dial-up.
I have tried a couple things. One, I registered the Wups2.dll file because I
made some repairs using the Windows XP CD. Two, I tried downloading through
the Microsoft Download Center. Three, I turned off my McAfee spyware program
in case it was blocking the download (although it had not done this in the
past).
I am not very computer literate.

I'd recommend calling 1-866-pcsafety if you are in
the U.S. or Canada.

Elsewhere, call your local Microsoft subsidiary, or the
number for paid suppoяt in your locale--and ask for the free help with virus
or security-patch related issues. This help extends to spyware removal as
well.

If you /clearly/ state that a specific update has caused
problems and don't ask any other questions, you /should/ receive No Charge
suppoяt for the issue.
