kb963027 IE6 update failure second try

Keep getting access denied errors in various places one is registry items
where full permission is allowed for administrator and all others. Have
reloaded and retried same result. All other updates ran fine. Running XP sp3
ie-6. I checked log and no other errors noted

How does this pertain to Windows Update?

It pertains to windows since update is one of the 6 4/14/09 updates for XP
this is the only one that failed

And shall we guess what that update was...?

Did the fix I posted in my previous reply help at all?

Re: kb963027 IE6 update shitty crash

Dont forget KB963027, JUST SHIT.
Now not only we have to fight against family viruses and enterprises, but a new threat appears over the digital horizon this April 2009, Microsoft sends us this update which ruinned IE 6. It comes inside a set of automatical actualizations, so you dont easily discover which of them is the cause. In years this has been one of the worst things coming from them. Only in God I trust, never more in Microsoft! Are they to apologize to the World?,
Has it been the only or happened before? Anybody Scotch whisky drunk? We'll see.

Re: kb963027 IE6 update failure second try

There is a very good chance that you are seeing the affects of a hijackware
infection.

1. See if you can download/run the MSRT manually:
http://www.microsoft.com/security/ma...e/default.mspx

NB: Run the FULL scan, not the QUICK scan!

2. WinXP ONLY!! => Run the Windows Live Safety Center's 'Protection' scan
(only!) in Safe Mode with Networking, if need be:
http://onecare.live.com/site/en-us/center/howsafe.htm

3. Run a /thorough/ check for hijackware, including posting the requested
logs in an appropriate forum, not here.

**Seek expert assistance in

If the procedures look too complex - and there is no shame in admitting this
isn't your cup of tea - take the machine to a local, reputable and
independent (i.e., not BigBoxStoreUSA) computer repair shop.

subsidiary. There is no-charge for support calls that are associated with
