| Re: windows updates not installed
I am running Vista but suspect my solution will work for you: 1. Open Control Panel 2. Open Add or Remove Programs 3. Uninstall all Windows Live software (for me, this was Microsoft Office Live Add-in 1.3, Windows Live Essentials, and Windows Live Sign-In Assistant) 4. Go to http:\\get.live.com and install latest versions of the software you just removed. You can check that this worked by going to Windows Update and having it check for new updates. It should tell you that your system is up to date. By the way, the original failure of KB967912 for my situation was that I had installed an early release (beta?) of Windows Live Sign-In Assistant automatically when I installed Windows Live Messenger.
