svchost.exe application error

i am sorry that i can not writeing english very good
I have a win xp that it is use vpn for to connect to the another network
this system use connection sharing for connect to the another computer for the connect to the another network but it has svchost.exe application error
i have tow question :
1-what is it?
2-how can i resolve this problem

It's the host program for a set of services.
To find out which ones you can use Process Explorer
or tasklist /svc (in a cmd window.)
