    Error code 80070490


    Hello all,
    This is my first message in this forum to say hello, and also wis
    everyone a great festive period and 2009.

    I also have a problem when trying to search for Windows Ultimat
    Update: I keep getting Error code 80070490 and seem to mis out o
    updates.
    Does anyone have a solution for this?

    Hi Jard, welcome to the NGs. As for your error what I've found -
    0x80070490 - ERROR_NOT_FOUND
    Corrupted System File;

    Ignore the title : Some Windows Vista functions may not work, or Windows
    Vista may stop responding
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929833
    Tells you about SFC

    Hopefully doing the SFC may rectify the problem for you.

    Thank you TaurArian:),
    SFC was not able to sort things out, though, as it did not recognize a
    needed log-file. I will not despair and persevere trying :(.
