You meant KB905866, not KB906866, and the full KB number of the other update is KB951072, hence the confusion. I'm curious to see if running the tool will resolve the inconsistentcies and allow the updates to install, Dave. <fingerscrossed> MowGreen [MVP 2003-2008] =============== *-343-* FDNY Never Forgotten =============== Dave wrote: > > "MowGreen [MVP]" wrote: > > >>Dave, >> >>0x8007371b ERROR_SXS_TRANSACTION_CLOSURE_INCOMPLETE >>One or more required members of the transaction are not present. >> >>KB906866 is for XP, not Vista: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/906866 >> >>>APPLIES TO >>>• Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 1, when used with: >>> Microsoft Windows Server 2003, Standard Edition (32-bit x86) >>> Microsoft Windows Server 2003, Enterprise Edition (32-bit x86) >>> Microsoft Windows Server 2003, Web Edition >>> Microsoft Windows Server 2003, Enterprise Edition for Itanium-based Systems >>>• Microsoft Windows Server 2003, Standard x64 Edition >>>• Microsoft Windows Server 2003, Enterprise x64 Edition >>>• Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 2, when used with: >>> Microsoft Windows XP Professional >>> Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition >> >>KB91072 is an update from 2006 and also not for Vista. The tool wouldn't install, it kept comign back with an error about not for use with this platform. It turns out part of vista was corrupt. I ended up re-installing the OS - not a full reinstall, just a repair. All updates successfully installed then. Thanks for your assistance. Dave.
