    ActiveX -object does not load/install

    When I enter Windows Update, I get a message that I must install an
    ActiveX-object in order to find out which components to update. BUT it does
    not download and the usual yellow blocking toolbar does not appear under the
    address bar.

    So how do I get the ActiveX-object running?

    Some 'thing' is preventing it from installing properly. Such a 'thing'
    could be security software or malware.
    You can download and install it from a Command Prompt by following the
    steps laid out here:

    However, if malware is causing the issue, then it may not allow the
    Windows Update Agent to install. If that's the case, using Internet
    Explorer, have the system scanned by the Kasperksy Online Scanner after
    reading this tutorial:
