MSN/Yahoo Messenger sign in problem

I've used both messengers for many years, without any problems even on Vista. But suddenly, I cannot sign in to either one, when using Vista.

I've tried re-setting password, checked the "proxy" settings, un-installing and re-installing, but of no use.

There is no problem signing in on XP. I think it is a Vista incompatibility issue?

I've just found out the answer, after much hunting around on Microsoft website

This problem occurs because the Microsoft Internet Explorer SSL settings are incorrect.

TROUBLESHOOTING STEPS

1. Start Internet Explorer.
   
2. On the Tools menu, click Internet Options.
   
3. Click the Advanced tab.
   
4. Under Security, clear the Check for Server certificate revocation (requires restart) check box.
   
5. Click OK.
   
6. Exit Internet Explorer.
   
7. Sign in to Messenger again.
