C00D11B1 when playing AVI's

I can no longer play the videos taken with my digital camera (which are in .avi format). I get the C00D11B1 error code in WMP11 even though I could play them about three weeks ago. I also can't play them in DivX player or any other player (I have tried many). I can play other .avi's on my computer, and I can play the videos from my camera on other computers.

My guess is that it is a driver problem (?), but I haven't made any hardware changes for months except that I re-installed my audio driver a couple days ago in hopes that that would solve the problem, which it obviously didn't. I have a Sigmatel HD Audio Driver and am running Windows XP Professional.

Re: C00D11B1 when playing AVI's

I am having this same problem. AVI files worked fine for a very long time and just this past weeks they stopped working, it may have been a Windows update that did it, I am not sure. This is Windows XP media center edition. The videos are from my digital camera and use the DVCodec. I don't think this is a codec problem though because I can open them using Quicktime and they used to work just fine. Anyone have any idea why they no longer work?

Re: C00D11B1 when playing AVI's

Problem is Windows Media Player is not configured properly

To verify that your proxy settings are correct

1.In Windows Media Player, on the Tools menu, click Options.

2.In the Options dialog box, on the Network tab, in the Streaming proxy settings area, verify your settings. If you don't know what your proxy settings should be, select a protocol, click Configure, and then in the Configure Protocol dialog box, select either Autodetect proxy settings or Use proxy settings of the Web browser. (The latter setting is available for the HTTP protocol only.)

3.Repeat step 2 for each protocol that is displayed in the Streaming proxy settings area.

My problem has nothing to do with streaming video, it was with AVI files. They work now, I installed the Combined-Community-Codec-Pack-2008-09-21
