| Framework Services for McAfee in XP
About two months back, I lost my McAfee Enterprise 7 (perpetual) in a system crash while fighting Vista on new dual boot system.
After dumping Vista some four weeks later and reverting to XP I found my Enterprise 7 telling me it was 39 months out of date and could not catch up.
So I asked the Boss for a McAfee update. The IT Guy supplied a copy of Enterprise 8 on a Cruz dongle which I loaded OK, except it asked for verification of admin privelege on loading Framework Service. I had admin status so hit the ignore as there didn't seem to be a way around it..
Now the software seems to run OK except when auto updating. At which time I get "error 1920 Framework Services failed to start" and I get no update.
If I try a manual start of Common Framework\Framework services.exe, I am advised that nailog.dll not found, but it is there in the same file.
I have tried unistall/reinstall but still have the admin privelege problem during install which obviously might be related.
Is there another level of privelege that I don't know about?
I am unsure of the function of framework services and or if it is related to .Net framework.
Can anyone help?
