problem with Vlc media player?

What i just want is that to open different media files in different media player. Its just because you know, when a movi file is clicked, it opens up in a VLC window. But when i click a music file, it opens in the same VLC window and replaces the previous 1 which was a movi. So how to do that?

That can be changed through the settings option of the player. I dont use VLC so i am not sure about the procedure. Well, there are some PC's at work which have VLC installed so i'll check it out later after the work.

if you go to Settings > Preferences
Click on Advanced from the left menu.
and then on the right under "Performance Options",
look for the check box with the phrase "One instance when started from file"
(you might need to scroll down a little)
make sure that it is unchecked...

voila! you can now open multiple file in multiple VLC windows....

hope the instructions are clear... sometimes im bad at giving instructions...
