Office Customer Preview error "you don’t have a modern Windows operating system"

My system is running on windows xp and whenever I am trying install Office Customer Preview then I am getting the below error message:
“We’re sorry, we couldn’t install your Office product because you don’t have a modern Windows operating system.”
I don’t know why I am getting this error, I don’t think I am missing out anything, is there anyone else who has faced the same error or has any idea about it??

As far as I am aware Office Customer Preview is currently not supported by windows xp and vista it is just supported by windows 7 or higher operating system. I don’t know about their future plans but currently you won’t be able to get it working on windows xp. You will have to install windows 7 or higher for using it.

Yes, your system should meet below requirement to get Office Customer Preview working:

• Processor: 1 Ghz or greater x86/x64 Processor with SSE2 instruction set
• Memory: 1 GB RAM (32 Bit) /2 GB RAM (64 Bit)
• Hard disk: 3.5 GB free disk space
• Operating System: Windows 7 or later (32-bit or 64-bit); Windows Server 2008 R2 or later with .Net 3.5 or greater; Windows 8 Release Preview or later.
• Graphics: Graphics hardware acceleration requires DirectX10 graphics card and 1024 x 576 resolutions.

Even I need some help regarding this, I am aware of the system requirement for Office Customer Preview but I am getting the same error message when I am trying to install it on Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit SP1 as well, I think there is something wrong going with Office Customer Preview. I have come across some people facing the same issue in other forums and have tried following the solutions like installing recommened windows update, installing latest frameworks etc. My system meet the requirement of Office CP but I am not able to make out what exactly is stopping it from getting installed and why I am getting any error message saying “you don’t have a modern Windows operating system.”

It appears as if Office Customer Preview is buggy, ive encountered the same error message while installing it on Windows 7 Pro 64 bits which came preinstalled in my dell laptop. I have tried uninstalling it so that I can reinstall it but I am not allowed to do so as I haven’t installed it completely. I have tried installing it several times after rebooting my system thinking that I might get lucky but no avail by now. I have tried running the installer as admin but that’s not making any difference, will like to know if anyone comes across any update on this issue, some of my friends have got it working on home premium, Gods knows why I am not able to get it working on Windows 7 Pro.

There is surely some kind of flaw in Office Customer Preview installer, I have been trying to install it on this:

• Processor: Intel Core i5 2nd-Gen Processor
• Memory – Kingston 8 GB ram
• Hard disk: 1 terabyte
• Operating System: Windows 7 64-bit Ultimate
• Graphics : NVIDIA GeForce 7100 / NVIDIA nForce 630i

My system is fulfilling all the requirement for office Customer Preview but this installer keeps saying “We’re sorry, we couldn’t install your Office product because you don’t have a modern Windows operating system.”
