Conditional formatting not getting updated automatically in Excel 2010

This was not the case when I was using my favorite office 2007. In it, whenever I used to try conditional formatting, it used to get reformatted even when the cell values change on account of formulae but in case of this Excel 2010, this is just not happening. Any help appreciated.

Re: Conditional formatting not getting updated automatically in Excel 2010

I am fed up of solving issues pertaining to the 2010 version of Microsoft Office. I do not understand what forced Microsoft to come up something this pathetic and such an useless product. Anyways, getting to your issue, I am not able to understand the issue, I would like to ask you what is the exact scenario. Please explain the issue in a better way, I would be too glad then!

Re: Conditional formatting not getting updated automatically in Excel 2010

Seriously! I tell you, anyways, the scenario would look something similar to this one.

i. If A1 = 1, then colour 1 is applied is applied to A3 -->ok.
ii. If A2 is changed to -1, then A3 becomes -10, but colour 1 is still applied to A3 -->incorrect. Selecting "Apply" in the Conditional Formatting Manager will apply the correct colour, though.

iii. If you enter -20 in A3 manually (i.e. you override the formula), then colour 2 is applied -->ok.
So, the issue appears to be with re-evaluating the formatting applied to formula-results.

Re: Conditional formatting not getting updated automatically in Excel 2010

I would ask you to follow the below mentioned steps in order to get rid of this not a very major issue that you report to be facing:
Consider: A1=10; A2=-1, A3=A1*A2

Select A3 and then go to conditional formatting, after which move to manage rules then new rule. Go ahead with the Format only cells that contain followed by including the cell value, then put in lessthan or equal to \ Greater than or equal to and press OK! To solve your issue.
