Media center remote doesn't control anything
It came with Vista (horrible OS) and of course Media Center was bundled. I haven't needed or used the (Media Center) remote since purchase. However I now dropped cable and am using the atsc tuner card with my antenna, the remote would come in handy except it doesn't control anything. I can tell it's working because when I press any button a little red light goes on on the (included) USB remote receiver. There seems to be no setting in Media Center to activate it. And the drivers seem intact and are reported as up to date. |

The remote is not working because of incompatibility. I had gone through Microsoft site and they says that you need to buy Vista Compatible remotes only to use them on Media center. That is really a waste of money. Just check that you can find the official website of TV Tuner card from where you can find Vista compatible drivers. Try to mention the full model of TV Tuner and remote you are using. Some might help you to find the right drives that will work in Windows Vista. |
