Updated to new version of program - now it won't work

I was using a piece of software purchased on the internet from a reliable source. Then they updated it with a new version. From that day on it stalled half way through the operation. The company tried to send fixes and other updates. To no avail! No one else is having my problem. It seems to be my computer.

I tried to uninstall it and even searched through the registry looking for bits of the old program and found several. Deleted them.

Reinstalled the program from a fresh link, but no further ahead.

Any suggestions?

First all you will need to mention the software you updated. Updates modify the existing files of software by adding a newer version to fix security holes. Many a time due to incompatibility with some hardware or existing application this updates failed. The best option to fix them out is to use feature like System Restore. You can choose the date inside this where your system was working fine. I will recommend you to get a older working version of this tool and install it in your system.
