Sub Projects not showing up as subprojects

Issue that I am having is that when I insert a subproject into the master project it attaches it self to the project right above it. Example

Main Project
Sub Project 1
Sub Project 2
Sub Project 3 (shows as a subtask and links itself to Sub Project 2's project file.


SO if I were to open sub project 2 sub project 3 will be within this file also. On the master file it will not allow me to outdent Sub Project 3?

Sorry I hope this isnt to confusing but really need help.

Will you please mention the software that you are running??? it sounds like visual basic. is it??

I apologize I did not mention what tool I was using. It is MS Project 2010 and I actually resolved my own issue. If you insert a project within a Master Project you have to enter it after another project. Not underneath a projects task list. If you insert under a project list it will place that project under that project. Make sure it is not expanded prior to inserting a new project in the project master. Sorry if the above confuses you I am not very good at explaining things.

As a suggestion - collapse all tasks using the View tab, Outline, Level 1 command.
