while installing nero 11 trial, “microsoft vc redist 2008 kb973552 (x86) has failed” error message appears.

I am running with windows 7 home premium 64bit operating system and totally new to this issue occurred at the time of installing the nero 11. i receive this message microsoft vc redist 2008 kb973552 (x86) has failed. setup will now exit. I made some possible attempts to solve this by making the windows update but there were no update was found. I am not able to solve this problem as can you assist me in my query. Thanks.

First of all , I would like to say that this issue is somewhat relating to your system and hence, I will recommend to disable the anti-virus as well as any security software previous to the installation. This is a common problem as many are striking with such error messages and the most of the reasons tend to be relating to the security programs installed in it.

As I am having a windows 7 64 bit operating system , I have some doubts whether it is compatible with windows 7 64bit. As I required the setup of nero to be installed in my PC as I have a lot of work to do with it I made a repair and then uninstalled and then once more installed but still the same error occurred.

If you are with the doubt that whether it is compatible with your system or not, I would tell you that it is compatible with your current operating system . further r I would also like to tell you that it's as well compatible with XP SP3 32 bit. According to me, you made some attempts to uninstall and reinstall the downloaded redistributable. But I would like to add that you need to right click on the v11 downloaded .exe file along with make a selection of the "run as administrator". In your case , I suppose that it will tend to work.

I should say that if your issue are not yet solved, you need to go to nero.com- downloads- tools along with download the "get support files" utility. And then have a run of that. After that it will get the nerosupport.cab.

I need to provide some steps in your case and hope they help you. So initially you need to run the downloaded installer until the extraction process is complete along with have a click on cancel to terminate the installation.
(2)then you need to click on the Windows “ Start” button and then to the "Run" and there Enter %temp% and you will be with Temp folder.
(3)you also need to navigate to the extracted Nero folder NeroInstallFiles\\Nero2011x (x for version).
(4)it will tend to open this folder as well as execute the "nero.mmsplatinum.msi" along with this will tend to start the installation process.
(5) you need to enter your serial number at the time of the installation.

Thanks for those replies as they have helped to solve my issues. This is an appropriate solution in my case and now I am aware that the common solutions don’t tend to work and this has helped me a lot as I was not aware of this thing.
