What does ' + ' plus sign in front of a cell means in Excel

Hi friends recently while using the excel I have seen one formula, =+C31*$D$14 which is slightly different from =C31*$D$14, so I am confused about the presence of ‘+’ sign in front of =+C31*$D$14. So what does it means in Excel? What is the significance of the plus sign when the results are the same? If you guys have any ideas about this sign then please let me know.

re: What does ' + ' plus sign in front of a cell means in Excel

Some people learned about spreadsheets using Lotus 123. Those people used the + symbol to indicate a formula. And they want to continue using it. It's not necessary that it will make some of the changes there in the formula except it’s used with the binary operators. So there is nothing about this + sign in front of any formula.
