Multiple resources available at different times for one task

    Hi All,

I am new to Microsoft Project 2010 and I am trying to understand how I can effectively schedule two or more resources against one task.

The scenario that I have is:
One task i.e. Requirements Gathering for two weeks
Two resource - Both work the same working times i.e. Mon - Fri, 9 - 5.30
Resource 1 is available Mon - Wed for week 1 and Mon - Fri for Week 2
Resource 2 is available Wed - Fri for week 1 and Wed - Fri for WeeK 2

How can I schedule my resources for this one task? I don't want to change their working weeks as the days in which they are available alters frequently and it may just be they are assigned to a different task on the same plan for the time they are not available for my requirements gathering task.

Is there anyway I can do this without creating multiple tasks?

Appreciate any help anyone can give!

Whenever you assign any resource on a task adjust the assignment days from the days column to your desired value. Project will never make decisions about which resource is "available" and make an assignment. You may assign resources and then use the Resource Leveling function to delay tasks that cause overallocations.
